| Lumosity scientists constantly seek to understand more about brain training and human cognitive abilities. To accelerate this effort, we've created the Human Cognition Project, a collaboration between our scientists and researchers from over 60 universities around the world.
HCP collaborators are academic scientists, researchers, clinicians, and educators. After reviewing research proposals, the Lumosity science team may grant applicants free access to Lumosity's tools and, in certain cases, limited access to select anonymized portions of Lumosity's database of cognitive game performance. Collaborators are then able to use these resources in experiments of their own design.
This approach has contributed to the considerable breadth of topics represented in ongoing HCP collaborations, including studies on normal aging, certain medical conditions, and the relationship between physical exercise and Lumosity training.
The HCP is, in many ways, Lumosity's greatest research asset, allowing in-house scientists to learn from the collective expertise of many minds. And the more we learn, the better we hope to make Lumosity training. The realm of cognitive training is a relatively new one, which also makes it a fresh and exhilarating place to do research that expands the boundaries of what is known. | |
