This process of planning ahead challenges your visualization, or your ability to imagine how objects in the world fit together and interact. Here's the story behind the game. | | It all starts with a classic scientific task | | Our scientists were exploring ideas for new games when they found a cognitive task called Thurstone's Punched Holes. In this early 20th century task, the participant must imagine how a piece of paper would look when folded, punched with a hole, then unfolded. This mental folding challenges the brain's visualization skills — making it a great foundation for a new game. |  | | Next, our game designers spent weeks testing prototypes with focus groups in the Lumosity office. Prototype 3 in particular inspired players to play again and again — meaning it could help people stay engaged for longer. This winning prototype became Speed Pack. | | Refining your game experience | After our game artists illustrated dozens of travel items to fill the suitcase, our designers put Speed Pack in beta and tested it with Premium Members. Thanks to member feedback, they refined the gameplay with a few last tweaks, including an algorithm that makes the game difficulty adapt to your ability level.
